This pack includes the following microbes soft toys i.e. Zika (Zika Virus), TB (Tuberculosis), Dengue Fever (Dengue Virus), Leprosy (Mycobacterium Leprae).

What is Leprosy?

Leprosy is an ancient disease which manifests itself as nerve damage, bulbous nodules, and skin sores. Although it is not very contagious and has an incubation period of many years, the horrifying disfigurement that leprosy produces has made it one of the more feared diseases.

What is Dengue Fever?

Dengue fever is a tropical disease endemic to more than 100 countries. Up to a 100 million people are infected each year.

The origin of the name Dengue is unknown, but is thought to derive from the Swahili "ka-dinga pepo" (or "disease of the devil") corrupted to the Spanish word "dengue" which described the "fastidious" gait exhibited by sufferers as they walk.

What is TB?

Tuberculosis, or TB, is a disease caused by the mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria. TB can infect any part of the body, but typically targets the lungs and throat. Coughing or sneezing by infected persons is the most common cause of transmission. Unfortunately, TB bacteria can remain in a latent state so that infected persons who do not initially contract TB are still at risk of developing the disease later in life, should their immune systems ever weaken. (During the latency period, the TB-resistant host shows no symptoms of TB and is not contagious.)

What is Zika?

Zika is a virus that causes a disease known as Zika virus disease. It is transmitted to people primarily by the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito, which can also spread other endemic diseases such as Dengue fever. Zika is mainly found where this mosquito lives: tropical Africa, Asia and the Americas.

All the Microbes are made with supersoft fabric and are filled with Poly Acrylic Fiber i.e. Recron.
